NC, UML NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 22 NOVEMBER CA ELECTION UPDATE
Kathmandu, 10 July: Opposition NC and UML told Election Commission officials Tuesday they won’t participate in the 22 November constituent assembly (CA) election called unilaterally by government.
The Commission had called leaders of political parties for discussions on the vote.
The EC told Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Monday it required 120 days following constitution and election law amendments to hold the vote by thedeadline..
No initiative has been taken by government so far for the amendments.
The EC is unlikely to meet the deadline.

TWO EXECUTIVES OF NETWORK COMPANY ARRESTED
Kathmandu, 10 July: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) Tuesday arrested Chairman Gokul Shrestha and Vice President Puspa Raj Purush of Herbo International from the capital.
The supreme court has passed a verdict saying a network business they operated was illegal.
The company operated a network in 30 districts and several foreign countries..
Police were hunting for other company officials.
