Kathmandu, 16 July: Nepal Telecom (NT) landline and CDMN subscribers need not subscribe to STD service henceforth for inter-district calls on mobile by
fixed line.
The facility came into effect Monday.
Subscribers can now make inter-district calls by mobile fort Rs 1 per minute.

MAN CONVICTED TO 25-YEAR JAIL TERM FOR RAPE AND INCEST
Kathmandu, 16 July: The Makwanpur District Court has sentenced Bhim Bahadur Subedi, a resident of Hetaunda Municipality-4, to 25 years in prison on the charge of raping his daughter, RSS reports from Makwapur..
A single bench of the District Court Judge, Tek Narayan Kunwar, handed down the decision to this effect on Sunday. Subedi had raped his daughter the night of April 24 while she was alone at home. Neighbours had informed the police after hearing the girl scream and Subedi was apprehended.
The court handed down 15 years imprisonment for rape and an additional 10 years imprisonment for incest on Subedi.

LIGHTNING KILLS SEVEN IN ONE WEEK IN MORANG
Kathmandu, 16 July: Lightning accompanied with rainfall has killed three more persons in Morang district last night, RSS reports from Biratnagar..
Now, the death toll has reached seven during the one week period.
According to the District Police Office, Morang, the lightning killed Naina Devi Das, 30, of Takuwa VDC-4, Rita Devi Urab, 20, of Thalaha VDC-1 and Sanama Paswan, 60, of Dainiya VDC in the district Sunday night.
The lightning also destroyed telephones, televisions, refrigerators and other electronic devices.
Naina Devi and Rita Devi died after the lightning struck them while they were working at the paddy field and Paswan died in the house.
The incessant rainfall that occurred from Sunday has inundated Biratnagar town and surrounding rural areas.
The District Agricultural Office, Morang, said the rainfall has also destroyed vegetables planted in the field.
