TALKS BETWEEN PM AND SUNDHARIGHATRESIDENTS INCONCLUSIVE Kathmandu, 16 July: A meeting between Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and residents Sundharighat in Lalitpur Monday to resettle squatters from Thapathali in Kathmandu along Bagmati river to Lalitpur was inconclusive Monday. Sundharighat residents said they will continue to obstruct government resettlement plans and efforts and come out on the street to stop it. Squatters amid fears are reluctant to move to Lalitpur. Nnnn PM, PRESIDENT CONDOLE JAPAN FLOOD DEATHS Kathmand, 16 July: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has been deeply saddened at the news of loss of many lives and massive destruction caused by the recent floods in the Kyushu island of Japan. Sending a letter to Emperor of Japan, Akihito, on Monday, President Dr Yadav extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Emperor Akihito and people of the Japan and members of the bereaved families. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai wrote a letter to his Japanese counterpart Yoshihiko Noda and extended condolences to the people of Japan and bereaved family members. nnnn
