FLOODS CLAIM MORE LIVES
Kathmandu, 4 Aug.: At least two persons died in different incidents of floods triggered by incessant rainfall across the country since
Thursday, RSS reports..
Similarly, many people have been displaced while others are at risk of flood in different districts.
Bhola Khatik, 45, of Betahani-9 in Banke district died this morning after the Rapti River swept him away this morning while he was collecting timber from the flooded river, the district police office said.
Similarly, settlements at Holiya, Gangapur, Matehiya, Phattepur and other VDCs in the district have been inundated due to heavy flood in the river caused by the torrential rainfall.
A total of 223 families at Holiya have been displaced due to inundation. They have been shifted to Uchuwa, a nearby village.
Likewise, Puran Nepali, 35, of Jhalari VDC in Kanchanpur district was swept away by Sanbora River this morning. Area Police Office Jhalari said that Nepali was swept away after he was slipped against the river bank.
Similarly, a house was buried in a landslide and 30 others are risk of landslide at Bhoksing VDC-4, Bisundhunga, in Parbat district.
Property worth one million rupees was damaged after the landslide collapsed the house and a grocery shop of Shiva Prasad Lamichhane last night. The Lamichhane family is taking a shelter in its relative´s house. Locals said that the landslide has not stopped yet.
