FOREIGN MINISTER LEAVES FOR IRAN TO ATTEND NAM SUMMIT, PM BHATTARAI GOES WEDNESDAY DEFYING WESTERN PRESSURES Kathmandu, 27 Aug.: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha left for Iran to attend a two-day summit of non-aligned member (NAM) states this week. Shrestha said Nepal’s participation is important as a founding member of the movement. Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, ignoring western pressures not to attend the summit in Iran, is going flying there Wednesday. Nepal was asked by USA, come European states and Israel not to send a high-level delegation to the summit.
