GOLD GAINS AGAIN Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: Price of the yellow metal has reached Rs. 59,194 per tola in Nepali market today, which is the highest price so far, RSS reports. Price of the precious yellow metal is on rise for the past one week. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers´ Association (NEGOSIDA), price of hallmark gold has been increased by Rs. 1,594 today as compared to the last week. Last week, the yellow metal was traded at Rs 57,600 per tola and now it has reached Rs. 59,194 per tola today due to frequent price hike during the one week period. Similarly, price of worked gold is Rs. 58,944 per tola in Nepali market today while it was Rs. 57,350 per tola last week. The price of silver was Rs. 1,035 per tola last week and it was cheaper by Rs. 10 today and traded at Rs. 1,025 per tola today in Nepali market. Chairman of NEGOSIDA, Tej Ratna Shakya, said price of yellow metal has also increased in Nepal as the price of gold has also increased in international markets due to high demand of gold in international markets and lack of supply of gold as per the demand. Now, there is a demand of around 25 kilograms of gold in Nepali markets each day, said Shakya.According to NEGOSIDA, the import of gold is only 60 per cent of the demand. nnnn TERAI GROUP AGREES TO HANDOVER ARMS IN PEACE TALKS Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: The government held talks with Samyukta Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha, an underground outfit active in Terai since 2061 BS, in Lumbini and signed a five-point agreement, RSS reports from Bhairahawa.. Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Secretary Dhruba Prasad Sharma and Joint-Secretary Dipendra Nath Sharma took part in the talks from the government side while Coordinator of the Morcha Sanjay Kumar Gupta popularly known as Kautilya Sharma, Ravidutta Mishra (Raj Guru) and Satya Narayan Saha had participated in the talks that began at 1:00 pm on Sunday. The Morcha has agreed to hand over the weapons in its possession to the government after the five-point deal. Similarly, the government has expressed the commitment for providing reliable security to coordinator and members of the Morcha, Morcha to submit latest details of the prisoners and its cadres facing cases to the Ministry and implementing the agreement signed before. Consensus was forged to hold next talks on their mutual agreement as per the need. Minster Rayamajhi from the side of government and coordinator Gupta from the side of the Morcha signed the agreement paper. Before this, the government and Morcha had held talks for two times. nnnn
