MAOIST CHIEF HOPES NC, UML WILL JOIN A NEW FRONT FORMED BY MAOISTS Kathmandu, 10 Aug.: The UCPN-Maoist Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, on Friday said that the Federal Democratic Alliance (FDA) was formed to ensure federalism with identity and constitution with federalism, RSS reports. Talking to journalists after attending a programme organised by Lokgatha Samaj in the capital, the former prime minister reasoned that the FDA was needed for the practical implementation of federalism as ensured by the Interim Constitution 2063 B.S. "Such an alliance is needed to empower the people. This is not against any political force but only to provide rights to people," Dahal said. Dahal also expressed his confidence that the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML also would join the FDA. A meeting of the coalition partners on Thursday share common opinion on federalism and decided to form the FDA. Dahal was of the opinion that such an alliance was required to resolve the present political crisis as well. The UCPN-Maoist Chairman further said that his party would take special initiative to move ahead the political process that began after signing the 12-point agreement. nnnn VICE-PRESIDENT JHA SUGGESTS CA RESTORATION TO END CRISIS Kathmandu, 10 Aug.: Vice President Parmanand Jha has said that solution to the current political transition should be sought only from the Constituent Assembly (CA), RSS reports. Speaking at a press meet organised by the Reporters' Club at the Vice President's Office here on Friday, the Vice President said, "Present political crisis should be resolved through the CA." He stressed the need of amending the constitution to resolve the present political and constitutional crises in the country. He lauded the President's efforts of holding discussions with the senior leaders of the political parties and urged the political leaders to move ahead by forging consensus. nnnn UML’s OLI SAYS MAOIST PLOY OF FRONT WITH OTHER PARTIES A STRATEGY TO CAPTURE POWER Kathmandu, 10 Aug.: Leader of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has blamed that it was only another conspiracy of the UCPN-Maoist of planning to form a Front of federalists in order to capture state power, RSS reports from Sarkahi.. At a press meet oragnised by the Youth Association Nepal here on Friday, leader Oli claimed that it was the latest face of conspiracies being hatched by the UCPN-Maoist with an objectives of capturing state power. He said that the UCPN-Maoist had now picked up a new slogan thinking that if they could capture the state power by entrapping the country into the mire of ethnicity. Oli said that the new constitution was not promulgated due to the sole objective of the UCPN-Maoist of capturing state power, and added that there was a need of ethnic equality, social justice and access to opportunity, and that the CPN-UML only could do it. nnnn
