NEPAL, CHINA CONSULTATIONS MONDAY
Kathmandu, 7 Aug. The ninth meeting of Nepal–China Consultative Mechanism is scheduled to be held in the capital on coming Monday, RSS reports.
The meeting going to be held in a gap of around four years is expected to discuss on the matters of bilateral help and mutual interests.
The meeting will also dwell on the issues of trade, commerce, investment, boarder security and management, development of physical infrastructures and tourism. The meeting will review the projects being operated in Nepal on Chinese investment.
Besides, during the meeting, the Nepali side will hold discussions with the Chinese officials on the issues of West Seti Hydro Power Project, according to a senior officer at the Foreign Ministry.
Chinese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Fu Ying is arriving here on Saturday, leading a five-member delegation to take part in the meeting, said the Foreign Ministry.
The meeting will review the implementation status of the agreements signed between the two countries in course of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao´s visit to Nepal in last January, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
Similarly, according to DPM Shrestha, the meeting will discuss on the implementation aspect of the bilateral agreements signed during his China visit, their achievements and problems seen in course of the implementation.
The eighth meeting of the Mechanism that was formed in 1966 with a view to strengthening bilateral relations was held in Beijing.
China has been providing technical, physical and economic assistance to the socio-economic development of Nepal since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1955.
During the Nepal visit by its Premier Jiabao, the Chinese Government had announced an assistance of 750 million Chinese Yuan to Nepal for the development of physical infrastructures.
The meeting is also expected to be successful in taking a decision on providing soft loan by China for the construction of the Upper Trishuli ´A´ Hydro Power Project and an international airport in Pokhara.

19 INJURED IN MORANG BUS ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 7 Aug.: At least 19 passengers were injured, many severely, when a
bus overturned on the Mahendra Highway Tuesday, at Sundarpur-2, Morang.
The injured are being treated hospitals in Dharan and Inaruwa.
