RIVAL MAOIST PARTIES AGREE TO RESOLVE DIFFERENCES
Kathmandu, 5 Aug.:: The UCPN-Maoist and its breakaway party, the CPN-Maoist have agreed to resolve mutual differences through the medium of dialogue, RSS reports.
The two parties had formed a task force a month ago after clashes erupted among the cadres of the two sides across the nation, notably taking over the ownership of the physical property of the party.
An agreement has been reached following various rounds of dialogue by the task force to move ahead based on a consensus, said UCPN-Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
"We have agreed to bring down the differences gradually and to resolve the issue of the ownership of the party office and its physical property through a consensus", he said.
Likewise, CPN-Maoist leader Dev Gurung said the agreement reached in the task force would be discussed within the respective party.
The various rounds of deliberation held to neutralise tension between the two parties had forged a consensus, added Gurung.
The task force comprises UCPN-Maoist leaders Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Agni Sapkota and leaders Dev Gurung and Hitman Shakya from the CPN-Maoist.

BAIDHAYA ASKS GOVT. TO RESIGN
Kahmandu, 5 Aug.: : CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidhya has said that the present government should pave the way for a national government, as it has been indulging in anti-nationality activities, RSS reports..
Speaking at a talk program on 'Question of National Independence" organised by CPN-Unified here on Sunday, Chairman Baidhya said the people's constitution cannot be drafted in present status quo, so the present need was of an all-side round table conference.
"An all-side, all-party government is essential in order to draft a people's constitution, so the present government should step down immediately to give a way out for it", he said.
Coordinator of CPN-Maoist Matrika Prasad Yadav said a joint movement should be carried out in order to remove the present government, before deciding for an all-party round table conference, reinstatement of the constituent assembly or new elections.
"There is no alternative among the parties at present to move ahead by recognizing the significance of one another", he said.
General Secretary of Revolutionary Communist Party, Mani Thapa, emphasized on the need of a movement against Indian expansionism.
Border affairs expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha complained that the political leaders raise the agenda of national independence only when they are out of power, but turn a deaf ear to it once they assume power.
Likewise, political analyst Prof. Manik Lal Shrestha, water resources expert Ajaya Dixit, politburo member of CPN-Unified Yubaraj Panthi and other speakers called for unity in support of nationality.

RHINO POPULATION UP IN SUKLAPHATA
Kathmandu, 5 Aug.:: The number of Rhinos in the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve is found to have increased, RSS reports from Kanchanour..
The Reserve is now home to a total of seven Rhinos.
Sufficient watershed area and grassland for the Rhinos and zero presence of poaching has led to an increase in the number of the Rhinoceros in the Reserve, says Assistant Protection Officer, Chandra Bahadur Chand.
There are two male, three female and two others whose gender is yet to be ascertained, Chand said.
