CHEATING PREVALENT DURING EXAMS
Kathmandu, 5 Aug: Police arrested three people on the charge of helping students cheat during Science exam conducted under the SLC supplementary examinations in Rajbiraj, Sunday, RSS reports from Rajbiraj..
Shankar Kumar Saha, 32, Bed Prasad Yadav, 23, of Rautahat- 8 and Ramesh Kumar Yadav, 28, of Mohanpur- 4 were arrested along with a photocopy machine. Of them, Shankar Kumar is the proprietor of Shankar Computer Press at Rajbiraj-1.
According to District Police Office Saptari, they were caught while making photocopies of a flap copy of answer sheets prepared on the basis of a question paper taken out from the examination hall. The question paper was leaked from the exam hall within the half hour of the examination.
Meanwhile, three invigilators and eights students have been expelled for violating examination code of conduct from two exam centers in the district.
According to District Education Officer Rudra Hari Pandey, invigilator Ishwari Mandal and three students have been expelled from the Thangachhi Exam Center, invigilators Ramesh Kumar Mahato and Rhishikesh Thakur and five students were expelled from the Happy Land Higher Secondary Exam Center.
Earlier, three invigilators were expelled during the Math exam in the district. As per a provision stated in the Education Regulation- 2028 BS, those proved violating examination code of conduct during the examination may face jail term for six months or fine of up to Rs 100,000 or both.
A total of 26,677 students are appearing in the SLC supplementary examinations from five exam centers in the district. Of them, 1,836 sat for the Science subject.
