SUPREME COURT QUASHES WRIT DEMANDING DISMISSAL OF PM Kathmandu, 5 Aug.: The Supreme Court has vacated a writ petition filed demanding a directive in the name of the President to relieve the Prime Minister of his current responsibilities and take the initiative to form a new government, RSS reports. A single bench of Justice Tahir Ali Ansari handed down the verdict on Sunday reasoning that the SC could not issue a directive order by entering into a fully political matter at a time whether there was neither the Constituent Assembly nor the Legislature-Parliament. Advocates Saroj Kumar Thapa and Paras Mani Bhattarai had filed the writ petition on July 30. nnnn
