Kathmandu, 22 Aug.: Former minister and main opposition leader
Khum Bahadur Khadka was sent to Dilli Baazar khor Wednesday
He earlier surrendered before Kathmandu Dstrict Court Wednesday eight days after after his conviction by supreme court for possessing assets disproportionate to
his income.
The apex court sentenced Khadha to 18months in jail, Rs 9.4 million in fine
and confiscation of assets equivalent to the fine.
Supporters deposited Rs 7.574 million in cash as penalty.
Khadka’s jail term was reduced by 20 percent for surrendering within 60 days of the supreme court verdict.
Khadka told reporters the apex court verdict was biased with propose to
prevent an election bud.
Supporters issued slogans in his favour at the court.
NC said the was being targeted.
But the main opposition said this when it has been in power for most of the
time after 1990 when the panchayat was toppled to legalize banned parties.
