UPDATE PM IN QATAR; SAYS REVOLUTION INCOMPLETE Kathmandu, 29Aug.:: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said the campaign for change and revolution has not been completed, RSS reports from Qatar.. Addressing a programme organised by People's Progressive Forum at the residence of Nepali Ambassador to Qatar, Maya Kumari Sharma, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Bhattarai said the campaign is still on to accomplish the movement. On another note, he said the government was ready to take stern action against those involved in defrauding Nepali youths coming to overseas employment. 'The government would not let off those involved in cheating youths pursuing employment in foreign land in any pretext. Such defrauders would be brought to book', the Prime Minister further said. He claimed he has also not left any Minister opting to protect the culprits defrauding Nepali youths in course of their employment. The Prime minister went on saying that he has not left any stone unturned to render relief to people and also urged general public not to get disappointed. Noting that his tenure of one year in the government was successful, Prime Minister Bhattarai admitted that they could not address all the aspirations of the people. Nepali youths do not need to come to foreign employment if they were provided with job opportunities by devising a plan of employment and economic prosperity, he further said. The Prime Minister conceded that economic prosperity was not achieved due to political transition and absence of permanent government. He also claimed that the upcoming general convention of the Unified CPN-Maoist would chart out a course to move ahead the party in a noble manner. Nnnn AGITATION CLOSES DOWN PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY Kathmandu, 29Aug.:: Production from GD Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd based in Birgunj has halted due to the workers' agitation, RSS reports from Birgunj.. Workers associated with the Nepal Independent Chemical and Iron Workers Union, Pharmaceuticals unit committees are on a strike with seven-point demands. Implementation of the Labour Act, permanent status to those workers completing 240 days of work, implementation of the past agreement are among those demands put forth by the agitating workers. Business of the medicine factory has been negatively affected due to frequent workers' strikes. The factory is not able to run its business smoothly for the past one month due to non-cooperation from its workers, according to the factory management. nnnn
