CORRUPTION CHARGES REGISTERED AGAINST THREE TOP MAOIST LEADERS AT CIAA Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: Opposition UML Yuba Sangh, a youth wing of the Party, Friday filed corruption charges at CIAA against Maoist Chairman Prachanda, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai who is party vie-chairman and standing committee member Krishna Bahadur Mahara. They were charged for misappropriating millions of rupees from a state fund collecting finances from state bodies. Money was collected in the name of fake former fighters. Maximum penalty has been sought from defendants. A top CIAA official confirmed it had received complaints against Maoist leaders but was awaiting report of the party investing complaints. Nnnn TWO TRUCKS TORCHED Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: An unidentified group set two trucks ablaze at Bhainse and Simle on the Prithvi Highway Friday morning, RSS reports from Gajuri.. The Area Police Office, Gajuri stated that hooligans set fire to the truck (Lu 1 Kha 6023) at Bhainse, Benighat VDC and to another truck (Na 3 Kha 8837) at Simle, Bhumesthan VDC. It is said that the assailants set the trucks on fire saying that they were operating in defiance of a bandh (shutdown). It is not known who carried out the arson attack. Vehicles have come to a standstill on the highway following the attack on the two trucks. Nnnn
