DPM SHRESTHA HOLDS FURTHER MEET WITH RANKING
CHINESE LEADER

Kathmandu, 19 Sept.: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha met Zhou Yongkang, a senior leader of Communist Party of China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday morning, The Himalayan Times reports from Beijing.
Zhou is currently serving as the 9th ranked member of the powerful Politburo Standing Committee and the Secretary of the Central Political and Legislative Committee.
DPM Shrestha, following the meeting, told that China not only wants its good and cordial relations with Nepal, but also would like to see deeper relations between Nepal and India as well. The Chinese leader further said that Nepal should be able to grasp the benefits of economic success of emerging two big neighborus.
Zhou further hoped that Nepali political parties would be able to conclude peace and statue drafting process. He informed China would like to set up a cultural center any time soon.
An official accompanying with DPM Shrestha in the meeting told
that DPM Shrestha apprised the importance of East-West High Hill Road in Nepal and sought China's help in constructing it. On which, Chinese responded enthusiastically.
During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister of China Fu Ying, and Ambassador of Nepal to China Mahesh Maskey and China Division Chief atMoFA Ambika Luitel were also present.
