NEPAL DEFEATS USA TO WIN GROUP IV TITLE Kathmandu, 10 Sept.: Nepal beat USA in the ICC World Cricket League Division Four in Malaysia Monday. Nepal scored 147runs in 28.0 overs for twoi wickets. Gyanendra Malla scored 66 runs and Subhas Khakurel contributed 40 runs. USA was bowled in 48.1 overs while setting Nepal a modest target of 146 runs for victory. Nnnn CONSENSUS ON BASIS OF FIVE POINTS SAYS MAOIST CHIEF Kathmandu, 10 Sept.: : Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that political parties would reach to consensus within mid-September, RSS reports from Bharatpur Talking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport today, Dahal said the consensus would take place on the basis of a five-point agreement. He was here in connection with opening the district convention of the All Nepal Teachers' Association, Chitwan. The Chairman of the ruling party further said that the government is not an obstacle for consensus and it will surely accept the government under the leadership of the Nepali Congress if an agreement is reached on the disputed issues in the constitution-drafting. Dahal hinted at the possibility of reinstatement of the parliament on the basis of consensus among the political parties. Indicating to the Congress, he urged party President Sushil Koirala to win confidence within the party before casting doubts over the activities of other parties. All parties should adopt maximum flexibility for a consensus, said Dahal, adding that disputed issues over federalism have hindered the consensus. Nnnn VIRAL FEVER SPREADS TO MOHOTTARI Kathmandu, 10 Sept.: Epidemic of viral fever has gripped villages in the southern part of Mahottari district, RSS reports from Bardibas. According to the District Health Office, Mahottari, number of viral fever patients has increased at Bathnaha, Halkhori, Bhataulia, Anakar, Ekdara and Kolhuwa Bagiya VDCs in the district. Health Worker at the Office, Girendra Jha, said number of viral fever patients has increased at different health institutions situated in the VDCs and the District Hospital for the past five days after viral fever took the form of an epidemic. Health workers said mostly people of Dalit and poor settlements of the VDCs have been suffering from viral fever.The Office said health workers have been deputed at the viral affected areas for treatment. Medical Superintendent at the District Hospital, Jaleshwor, Dr Dwarika Prasad Saha, said now around 100 viral fever patients visit the hospital every day. Similarly, 60/70 viral fever patients visit health posts and sub-health posts based in Bathnaha, Halkhori, Bhataulia, among other VDCs. Before this, more than 1,000 viral fever patients of the northern part had returned after the treatment and now there are more than 70 viral fever patients at Bardibas Hospital, according to Acting Chief at the Hospital, Radheshyam Jha. nnnn
