US REMOVES MAOISTS OFF ITS TERRORIST WATCH-LIST
Kathmandu, 6 Sept.: :United States of America has removed UCPN
(Maoist) from its terrorist watch-list, a State Department spokesperson said
Minimal property and interests of Maoists in the United States or within
the possession or control of U.S. persons will no longer be blocked, ,a
Washington announcement said.
Ban on U.S. entities can now engage in transactions with Maoists
without having to obtain a license, the spokesperson said.
The US have concluded that UCPN (Maoist) has no longer been engaged in terrorist activities that threatens the security of US nationals or US foreign policy.
But delisting doesn’t mean that the US have overlooked or forgotten the UCPN (Maoist)’s violent past, the statement adds.
Some Nepalis working with US embassy were killed during a 10-year insurgency.
US maintained official contacts with Maoists after the rebels joined the political mainstream even while putting the largest party
on its terrorist list.

PADLOCKS REMOVED FROM NAMS
Kathmandu, 6 Sept.: Padlocks were removed Thursday after 10 days at the
National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS).

per tola after another gain..
The price Thursday was Rs 60,536 per tola on Thursday.
Price increased in the local bullion market after gains in the international
market.
