CPN MAOIST VLNTEERS TOHOLDPROTEST MEETINGS Kathmandu,14 Oct. National Youth People’s Volunteers affiliated with CPN Maoist of Mohan Baidhaya will organize protests at eight points ,mainly hydro power plants, including Upper Karnali, an announcement said. The projects are being developed with Indian involvement. Protests re being held from the beginning of November on different days. The body made public its plans Sunday after its first general meeting. The projects are ‘anti-national’, said the volunteer group. nnnn RPP, RJP SAYS ASSEMBLY REINSTATEMENT IRRELEVANT Kathmandu, 14 Oct.: The Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have decided against the reinstatement of the Constituent Assembly, as it was irrelevant. A joint meeting of the work executive committee of the two parties here on Sunday concluded that reinstatement of the CA was not the right option, and hence would not be acceptable. The meeting concluded that fresh elections should be held based on a political consensus, said joint Spokesperson of RJP, Kiran Giri. The meeting today also decided to hold the joint unity general convention of the two parties in the capital on coming January 18, 19 and 20. Meanwhile, President of RJP, Surya Bahadur Thapa has nominated his son Sunil Bahadur Thapa to the central executive committee of the party. Newly appointed central member, 55-year-old Thapa has a long experience of working with the United Nations. nnnn
