SSB VACATES NEPALI LAND
Kathmamdu, 27 Oct.:: Indian Seema Suraksha Bal( SSB) finally quit the Nepali land in the southern part of Kanchanpur district following a negotiation with the local farmers,RSS reports from Belauri..
Last week, the SSB seized the land saying the land near Dasgaja border pillar no. 34 was Indian land.
At the initiative of the District Administration Office and District Police Office, the deal was struck and the SSB apologized for its fake understanding.
“ The SSB has apologized for its mistake and promised not to repeat such blunder again,” said Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Poudel.
He also said the Indian side agreed to hand over the land to the Nepali owners.

WILD ELEPHANT MENACE IN KANCKANPUR
Kathmandu, 27 Oct.:: People of south Kanchanpur are being terrorized by wild elephants since one month, RSS reports from Kanchanpur.
A herd of wild elephants has damaged the property worth Rs. 3 million during that period in the village.
According to the District Administration Office Kanchanpur, the herd of wild pachyderm has damaged paddy and sugarcane crops owned by 42 families in the village.
“Normal life of Laxmipur, Dekhatbhuli, Raikwar Bichawa, Baise Bichawa and Krishnapur VDCs has been terrorized due to elephant menace”, said Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Poudel.
The wild elephants have demolished some houses also. The affected families have been recommended for compensation, he added.
The Armed Police Force has been deputed in the affected areas to chase away the herd.
The herd from the Dudhuwa National Park, India had entered the village a month ago and continues to disturb the normal life.
