TOURISTS STRANDED IN LUKLA Kathmandu, 3 Oct. Hundreds of tourists have been stranded in Lukla from Sunday.. No flights have landed or taken of from the apirport servicing the Mount Everest region because of localized bad weather. nnnn RPP CHAIRMAN RANA ASKS PM TO QUIT Kathmandu, 3 Oct.: Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana has advised Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai to resign from the post, RSS reports.. Inaugurating the unity convention between Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Janashakti Party at Banepa on Wednesday, he accused that there has been competition between the ruling forces – Unified CPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Morcha – for committing corruption. The one-third budget is ending by coming November 15 and that it would invite grave crisis in the country, he added. RPP general secretary Parshuram Khapung said Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai's inability to resign from the post is an obstacle for consensus. On the occasion, spokesperson of Rastriya Janashakti Party Kiran Giri said that the party merger was undertaken for the institutional development of republic in the country. The convention will choose a new leadership. Nnnn UML’S OLI CALLS FOR EARLY ELECTIONS KATHMANDU: CPN-UML standing committee member KP Sharma Oli has said it should not be delayed to go for fresh elections to Constituent Assembly (CA) by forming national consensus government. 'A new government should be formed by forging national consensus rather than demanding resignation of the caretaker government', leader Oli said at a programme organized here on Wednesday by Press Chautari Nepal. Stressing that political parties should responsibly give outlet to the problems facing by the country, he said, 'It should not be delayed to take ahead the country to right direction. The relation between power and people should be seriously accounted for'. Noting that prolonging constitutional vacuity and political complexity would create other problems, Oli further stressed the need of new government to hold elections by coming May or June. Chairperson of Press Chautari Nepal Gagan Bista said journalists' role would be crucial to liberate the country from imminent crisis. nnnn
