44 POLICEMEN SUSPENDED UPDATE Kathmandu, 9 Nov.: Forty-four policemen with the Eastern Regional Prison at Jhumka of Sunsari district have been suspended for dereliction of duty and investigation after a dozen prisoners from Jhunka prison by digging a tunnel overnight. Indian, Nepali and Bangladeshi prisoners escaped. They were serving sentences for serious crimes including murder. The Indo-Nepal border has been sealed and a search launched. nnnn JAPANESE ARMY TEAM ON RARE VISIT Kathmandu, 9 Nov.: A three-member team of Japanese Army led by Ground Self Defence Force Deputy Director, Logistics Department, GSO Major General Masatoshi Kawase held discussions Friday with Acting Army Chief Lt. Gen.Nepal Bhusan Chand They discussed help in human resource during natural disasters. The team also inspected Staff College, Army Command and also met with the directors and heads of the different departments. The Japanese team returns Saturday. Nnnn
