CENTRAL HEALTH TEAM IN JHAPA TO STUDY DENGUE OUTBREAK
Kathmandu, 23 Nov. A team deputed from Department of Health Service has started inspections at every households, hotels and vehicle stations in Mechinagar-10, Kakadbhitta prone to dengue fever from Thursday, RSS reports.
A team headed by In-charge of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Dr Yubaraj Pokharel comprising Dr Chandan Thakur, Vector Control Inspector Parshuram Shrestha and District Public Health Officer Dr Yogendra Prasad Bhagat had minutely observed the possible area where female mosquito of Aedes Ageptai and its larva are detected and cautioned house owners, hoteliers and entrepreneurs.
Following the inspection of affected areas, activities such as destroying eggs and larva of mosquito, free distribution of medicines to patients, arranging blood for the patients and providing health check-up services in different health facilities, said Division Director Dr GD Thakur.
He has pledged to bring dengue outbreak in the affected area within a month. RSS

MELAMCHI TENDER BID SENT TO ADB MANILA
Kathmandu,23 Nov.: International bid for construction of the tunnel and intake of the most-awaited Melamchi Drinking Water Project has been sent to the head office of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila for approval, RSS reports.
The project sent the bidding document for agreement with new contractor to carry out works of the project of national glory as contract with China Railway 15 Bureau Group for constructing the 27.5 kilometer-long tunnel and intake was cancelled.
The implementing agency of the project- Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB) had announced to make public the bidding document till today.
According to Executive Director of the Board, Krishna Prasad Acharya, the bid will be announced soon after the approval of the proposal by the ADB, the main investor in the project.
He said probably the response will come by Monday and necessary works will be immediately started after receiving the response.
