DEVELOPING STORY PRESIDENT ASKS PARTIES TO FORM A CONSENSUS GOVT. BY 30 NOV. Kathmandu, 23 Nov. President Dr.Ram Baran Yadav Friday asked parties to assemble a consensus government by four in the afternoon 30 November. The president went beyond the government which claims it can conduct constituent assembly elections by giving the 13-month Baburam Bhattarai government a national character. The appeal through a statement comes in the absence of parliament. MORE ELECTION OFFICIALS’ PRE-CONDITION FOR A VOTE Kathmandu, 23 Nov.: Election officials Friday asked Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai by 30 December if announced elections are to be held April/May 2013. Government didn’t implement suggestion to hold the first vote of the constituent assembly scheduled Thursday. Officials asked the premier to appoint officials, including commissioners , and create a political understanding for the vote. The commissioners retire January.
