HEALTH MEET STARTS Kathmandu, 23 Nov.: A two-day conference of health volunteers kicked off in Lalitpur on Friday. Minister for Health and Population Rajendra Mahato inaugurated the conference amidst a programme, RSS reports from Lalitpur.. On the occasion, the Health Minister vowed to bring the new health policy soon. The new health policy would recognize all health volunteers in the district, he added. Also speaking on the occasion, Local Development Officer of Lalitpur Raj Kumar Shrestha said the conference would give a positive note on the issues of health volunteers. The conference is organised with the support from the Lalitpur Sub Metropolis Social Welfare Division. Division Officer Ashok Shrestha said the objective of the conference is to recognize the contribution of health volunteers in the district. It is learnt of 568 health volunteers in the district, only 133 have been recognised by the government. nnnn
