UPDATE DETAILS OF DEUBA SPEAK
Kathmandu, 18 Nov.: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has said that an environment of complete peace could not be built yet in the
Country, RSS reports from Kanchanpur..
Inaugurating the BP Chintan Pratisthan at Jhalari in Kanchanpur district on Sunday, Deuba said there is still an environment of fear in the country as the UCPN-Maoist has continued murder, violence, conflict and capture of lands.
He said Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has pushed the country into a difficult situation by dissolving the Constituent Assembly (CA) even if initiative was underway to forge consensus on the issues of CA.
The NC's senior leader said initiatives made to forge consensus were a failure as the UCPN-Maoist has carried out works so as to stick to power with conservative thinking.
He added the Prime Minister should resign from the post to give an outlet to the country and for formation of a national consensus government.
Deuba said all possible efforts are made for the construction of Daiji-Jogbudha, Kaluwapur-Belauri and Jogbudha- Nayal roads.
Similarly, NC central member NP Saud expressed the view that going for referendum is now only one alternative as problems in the country were not resolved through CA.
Stressing that taking thoughts of BP to villages is the need of the day, Saud said development should be started from villages not from the city.
NC leader Ramesh Lekhak said that the previous agreements were violated due to backtracking by the UCPN-Maoist.
