GAINS WILL VANISH WITHOUT ELECTIONS SAYS PRESIDENT Kathmandu, 1 Dec.: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav Saturday warned gains of a revolution will vanish if April/May elections aren’t held. ‘Elections can’t be held without consensus,” the president said. He asked parties while inaugurating the 4th AIDS National Conference to assemble a consensus government to hold an election. The head of state revealed he made repeated requests to political parties to forge consensus for elections. He hoped his call for fresh second deadline to assemble a consensus government by Friday will succeed. Nnnn 20 PEACE CORPS BACK IN NEPAL AFTER 8 YEARS Kathmandu, 1 Dec.: US Ambassador Friday Peter W.Bodde swore in 20 volunteers whom will be deputed to three districts after eight years after a Maoist insurgency that targeted American interests in Nepal. Two Nepalis with the US embassy were killed. The volunteers left Saturday for Syangjha, Parbat and Baglung for a two-year assignment.
