UPDATE PARTIES NOW GET A FIVE-DAY EXTENSION Kathmandu, 13 Dec.: The presidential deadline was extended twice for seven days on each occasion asking parties to agree on a successor of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and assemble a consensus government to hold elections sometime in April/May. The deadline wasn’t met and it was again extended for six more days Parties failed to meet the twin tasks in 20 days. The last deadline expired Wednesday. again. The third six-day deadline ended Wednesday.
