UPDATE PARTIES NOW GET A FIVE-DAY EXTENSION Kathmandu, 13 Dec.: The presidential deadline was extended twice for seven days on each occasion asking parties to agree on a successor of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and assemble a consensus government to hold elections sometime in April/May. The deadline wasn’t met and it was again extended for six more days Parties failed to meet the twin tasks in 20 days. The last deadline expired Wednesday. again. The third six-day deadline ended Wednesday. President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav Thursday morning extended the deadline for another five days until Monday.17 December with the same tasks after a collective meeting with leaders UCPN-Maoist, UML, NC and BIjaya Kumar Gachedhar of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) Nnnn NC LEADER BHIM BAHADUR TAMANG BEING REMEMBERED ON 13TH DAY OF HIS DEATH Kathmandu, 13 Dec.: NC President is addressing Thursday a condolence meeting in Dolakha, the home district of Bhim Bahadur Tamang, who died 13 days ago of a heart attack. Such meetings are being held in all 75 districts to remember a respected, dedicated and selfless leader. Tamang died of a heart attack. nnnn
