COLD WAVE DEATH TOLL REACHES 20 IN SAPTARI Kathmandu, 8 Jan.: Twenty people have died due to extreme cold in Saptari district over the last couple of weeks, RSS reports from Saptari.. Ten people died in two days due to hypothermia. With this the death toll due to cold in the district has reached to 20. Two people each died in Banauli and Kalyanpur, and one each at Madhawapur, Piprapurba and Rupnagar last night alone. The increasing cold has affected life in the district headquarters as well as in the rural areas. The number of patients suffering from cough and cold, fever, respiratory diseases and arthritis has surged with plummeting temperatures. Meanwhile, schools in Saptari have been closed until January 13 due to extreme cold. Nnnn
