As per the study in Setidevi Community Forest and Gyaneswor Community Forest, habitat of rare Royal Bengal Tiger and rhinos has been found in some community forests in Chitwan. Scientific study has shown that there are various 125 species of birds and 19 kinds of mammals in Chitwan, said District Forest Officer, Dr. Indra Prasad Sapkota. He said as rare wildlife has been found, now challenges have been added for their conservation, and co-work with the local should be made effective. Camera trapping was used to monitor the animals twice last year in 400 hectares of the two forests. This is the first time in Nepal that the wildlife in the community forest have been counted, said Forest Chairman Deepak Adhikari. Possibility of tourism has increased as these wild lives were found in the context that they were earlier found in Chitwan National Park only, said conservationist Prem Neupane. The forests were monitored by the district forest office and community forests in association with Prakriti Ka Sathi, an organization. Executive director of the organization, Raju Acharya said 125 species of birds including two rare species and 19 mammals including rare rhino, tigers, monkeys and deer were found in the forest.
