KING PRITHVI NARAYAN SHAH REMEMBERED
Kathmandu, 11 Jan. : A unity rally was organized in the capital today on the occasion of the National Unity Day and 291 th birth anniversary of the nation builder Prithvi Narayan Shah, RSS reports.
The rally that was organized by Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Citizens Main organizing Committee went through various places garlanding the life-size picture of the then king Prithvi Narayan Shah.
The unity rally went through Dillibazaar, Bagbazaar, eastern road of the Tundikhel, Bhadrakali and converged after it reached at the Western Gate of Singhadurbar.
The participants of the rally carried national flags, placards that included the divine teachings of the nation builder Shah. The participants of the rally chanted various slogans ´Long live nation builder, Declare National Unity Day´, among others.
Police disrupted the rally at Bhadrakali from moving towards the western gate of the Singha Durbar for a while.The rally organizers later reached to the statue of the then king Shah at the western gate of Singha Durbar without placards from Bhadrakali.
Senior litterateur and Coordinator of the organizing committee Modanath Prashrit, leader Rajeshwor Devkota, Bharat Basnet of the organizing committee, Journalist Prakash Gambhir Singh Rayamajhi delivered their views and suggested the government not to undermine the nation builder Shah and observe Poush 27 as the National Unity Day as in the past

PRESIDENT CONSULTS LEADERS OF 19 PARTIES
Kathmandu, 11 Jan.: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Friday concluded leaders of 18 political parties represented in the dissolved parliament, including CPN Maois.
RPP-Nepal and CPN Maoist leaders welcomed the president’s efforts to broaden the scope of talks with parties.
Efforts were limited to fining a resolution to a current deadlock by only limiting his dialogue with the Big Three and Madeshbadi parties in government.
The president asked leaders to work for a consensus/
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai attended the consultations.

CPN MAPOST CLOSED DOOR SESSION ADJOURNED UNTIL SATURDAY
Kathmandu, 11 Jan,: A closed door session of the CPN Maoist was adjourned Friday until Saturday.
Group discussions weren’t completed Friday, a leader said.
