JOURNLIST MURDER UPDATE REMAND EXTENDD FOR 12 MOREDAYS Kathmandu, 17 Jan.: Dailekh District Court Thursday extended the one week remand of five suspected Maoists for another 12 days.. They are being investigated for the murder of journalist Dekendra Thapa eight years ago. Police Thursday presented CPN-Maoist Bheri Karnali State committee member Jay Bahadur Shahi, Harilal Pun Magar, Nirak Ghartimagar, Lakshiraam Gharti and UCPN-Maoist cadre Bir Bahadur KC at the court. nnnn FIRE CAUSES DEVASTATION IN RAJBIRAJ Kathmandu, 17 Jan.: Property worth three million rupees was gutted by a fire at a vegetable market in Rajbiraj on Thursday morning, RSS reports from Rajbiraj.. A total of 38 huts were destroyed in the fire that was started at 4:00 am suddenly at Rajbiraj -1-based vegetable market. According to the District Police office, Saptari, different shops including vegetable, grocery, fruits, among others were destroyed by the fire . Fire engine, police personnel and local people brought the fire under control after two hours. Meanwhile, students of the education faculty at Rajbiraj -based Mahendra Bindeshwori Multiple Campus today set campus furniture on fire demanding immediate resumption of the obstructed classes. Classes of the faculty have been disrupted for the past two months due to the agitation of part time university teachers. The part time teachers have been disrupting classes putting forth various demands. The students also burnt a board of the students' union saying it has not been working in favour of students.
