PRESIDENT CONFERS MEDALS. DECORATIONS Kathmandu, 25 Jan.:: President Dr. Rambaran Yadav decorated some 101 personalities who contributed for the nation and society and were honoured on the occasion of the Republic Day- 2069 BS, at a function organized at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, today [Friday], RSS reports. At the function, President Yadav handed over the ´Rastragaurav´ decorations declared for former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai (Posthumously) and republican leader Ramraja Prasad Singh (Posthumously) to chairman of the Santa Leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai Foundation, PL Singh, and son of Ramraja Prasad Singh, Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh. Similarly, President Dr. Yadav also handed over the Mahaujjwol Rasttradeep decoration to sociologist and planner Dr. Harka Gurung (Posthumously) to his wife Mrs. Saroj Gurung. The president also decorated 47 persons with the ´Suprabal Janasewashri´, 37 with ´Prabal Janasewashri´ and 14 with ´Janasewashri´ decorations, the Office of the President said. Present at the function were Prime Minister, chief justice, DPM, home minister, ministers, chief of constitutional bodies and distinguished personalities, said spokesman of the President´s Office, Hari Kumar Shrestha Nnnn US IMMIGRATION VISA FEE INCREASED Kathmandu, 25 Jan.: A new arrangement has been made to pay Rs. 14,000 equivalent to US dollars 165 as immigration visa fee before US visit by any person having American immigration visa, RSS reports. The new arrangement will be effective from February 1, which is stated in the communiqué issued Friday by the US Embassy in Nepal. nnnn
