UPDATE ANOTHER PRESIDENTIAL EXTENTION OF DEADLINE
Kathmandu, 10 Jan. President Dr.. Ram Baran Yadav ‘at the request” of
the Big Three and Madeshbadi parties in government Thursday extended a
deadline for further five days until Monday to find a consensus
government to succeed Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
Maoist Chairman Prachanda and UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal held discussions after the extension.

FIVE SUSPECTED MURDERERS OF JOURNALIST REMANDED TO
FURTHER ONE WEEK JUDICIAL CUSTODY UPDATE
Kathmandu, 10 Jan.: Five Maoists suspected of killing journalist
Dikendra Thapa in Dhiktel eight years ago were remanded to judicial
custody by district court for one week Thursday.
Their five-day remand ended Thursday.
Recording their statements began amid admission one of them buried Thapa alive.
The bazzar was closed Thursday to protest Prime Minister Baburam
Bhattarai’s attempt o intervene by stopping the investigation.
