following a raid on a Itahari hotel in Sunsari Tuessday.

OWL FESTIVAL IN CHITWAN
Kathmandu, 26 Feb.: Festivals so far have been largely organized for promotion of commercial goods and agro-products or publicity of some tourist destinations in Nepal. But, this time, a festival being organized in Chitwan is unique in deed, RSS reports from Chitwan..
First of its kind in Nepal, Owl Festival 2013 is being organized for three days from February 29 at Mangalpur of Chitwan drawing every one's attention.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, Friends of Nature- an organization working in nature conservation, the Setidevi Community Forest and Acordios Foundation said preparation for the festival they were jointly organizing was almost complete.
Owl is one of the birds on the verge of extinct in Nepal.
Various programmes as awareness and information about the owl, painting on birds, poem and essay writing competition on wildlife, and bird viewing competition would be organized during the Festival, said Raju Acharya, Director at the Friends of Nature.
According to him, six individuals including conservationists and journalists contributing to the conservation sector would be honoured in the Festival.
The felicitated personalities would be provided with Rs 5,000 in cash and a copper plaque, said Deepak Adhikari, Chairperson of the Setidevi Forest.
During the festival, arrangement of home stay will also be made for the visitors as part of a tourism promotion initiative.
