UML YOUTH ASSOCIATION NATIONAL CONVENTION GETS UNDERWAY Kathmandu, 22 Feb.: The 8th national convention of UML’s Youth Association for underway in Butwal Friday. New leadership is being elected to give new blood to the Association at a time when constituent assembly elections are planned in June. Top leadership is in the west Nepal town for the meeting. Altogether 1,737 delegates are participating. Four contestants for the Association chief loyal to Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Sharma Oli have emerged to grab Association leadership. nnnn PATAN HOSPITAL VANDALIZED Kathmandu, 22 Feb. : Kin of a woman who was brought to the Patan Hospital for delivery vandalised the hospital today after she died while undergoing treatment there last [Thursday] night, RSS reports from Lalitpur.. The hospital declared her dead on Friday though she had been admitted to the hospital since last Saturday. Kin of the deceased have claimed the woman died due to negligence by doctors. The woman from Dhapakhel, Lalitpur, died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. She was admitted in a very poor health condition, said an official at the hospital. Talks between kin of the deceased and the hospital management are underway regarding the incident, the hospital stated. Meanwhile, issuing a press release today, the Patan Hospital said that the pregnant woman died while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from reaction due to the use of ´Bupivacaine´ medicine. The medicine was used in connection to vaccinate her for undergoing a cesarean section on February 17. The medicine ´Bupivacaine Spinal Anesthesia´ is widely used, and negative impact is rarely seen, but it is reported in different international medical science journals that this kind of reaction has been seen in other countries too, the hospital management stated. HEADED BY CJ UNACCEPTABLE Kathmandu, 22 Feb.: The Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC) has made it clear that they would not accept the idea of forming election government under the leadership of sitting Chief Justice, RSS reports from Ilam. A meeting of the Central Working Committee of FLSC has decided not to go for election citing it was unconstitutional to hold election under the Chief Justice leadership, stated a press release issued by the Council on Thursday. The meeting also drew a conclusion that the agreement made among the major political parties was quite undemocratic and against the principle of separation of powers. nnnn
