DRUG PEDALERS AMONG 111 ARRESTED IN PASHUPATI UPDATE Katahmandu, 10 March : President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has paid homage to Lord Shiva at the Pashupatinath Temple on the occasion of the Mahashivaratri on Sunday evening, RSS reports.. President Dr Yadav, the Head of the state, performed puja for ten minutes at the Temple. On the occasion, he wished peace and harmony among the Nepali people. He said, "Let´s live in peace. Let´s hope the country will get constitutional remedy. " Earlier, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Chuda Mani Sharma and office bearers at the Pashupati Area Development Trust welcomed the President at the Pashupatinath. Meanwhile, police have taken 111 persons under control for raucous activities and drug supply in the Pashupati area today. Chief of the Metropolitan Police Sector Kathmandu, Rana Bahadur Chand, said some of the arrested ones were drowsy with marijuana smoke and some others supplying the marijuana dust. Similarly, some if them were creating uproar and misbehaving with the devotees. In order to assist the devotees and maintain peace and security, nearly 1,000 civil police and 1,500 armed police persons have been mobilized in the Pashupati area. Also, the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has mobilized 1,000 volunteers. Moreover, the PADT has set up 40 CCTVs at different places of the Pashupati area in view of the security. According to the PADT, nearly half million devotees have paid homage at the Pashupatinath Temple till this evening. The Mahashivaratri is the biggest religious festival of the World´s Hindu people and the Pashupatinath the famous site for the celebration as it homes the Lord Shiva. Kathmandu, 10 March : Central member of the Nepali Congress, Sujata Koirala, has said government leadership by the Chief Justice would give a message that political parties had failed to sort out problems, RSS reports from Biratngar. Talking to media persons at Biratnagar today, leader Koirala said Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML need to join present government and hold election. The former deputy prime minister Koirala said it would be better to join this government and hold election rather than continuing political indecision in the name of consensus. Responding to a query, leader Koirala reminded that the ruling Maoist party had agreed with the late GP Koirala to award the major posts to the former Maoist fighters as the highest ranks while integrating to the Nepal Army.
