PM POLITICAL AIDE PAUDEL SAYS BHATTARAI GOVT. WILL CONTINUE WITHOUT CONSENSUS ON CHIEF JUSTICE REGMI Kathmandu, 11 March : Chief political advisor to the Prime Minister, Devendra Paudel, has said that the incumbent government would turn into an election government if Chief-Justice (CJ) led government was not formed, RSS reports from Bhajang.. Paudel claimed that Bhattarai-led government would hold election if process is not successful although maximum efforts are being made to form the CJ-led election government. At a news conference organised by the Revolutionary Journalists Association, Baglung, here this morning, he clarified that there was no alternative if the latest effort for political outlet was a failure. He said the incumbent government would hand over the responsibility if consensus in all the political, constitutional and legal issues was forged in a package deal before formation of a new government and the election was certain by mid-June. Paudel said name of the CJ was proposed as the last alternative as attempts made for the past one year to form an election government under the leadership of political parties was in no way possible. <="" p=""> Nnnn SECOND SCOUT JAMBOREE IN 26 YEARS Kathmandu, 11 March: The Second Scout Jamboree is going to be held at Tikauli of Chitwan next month under the initiative of Nepal Scouts, RSS reports. The objective of the jamboree is to make students disciplined, hardworking and capable by bringing scouters to one place and thereby promote fraternity. Tikauli lies some 155 kilometers southwest from the capital. Special arrangements are to be made in the country´s main entry points in Kakarvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa and Tribhuvan International Airport for the convenience of foreign guests arriving to take part in the jamboree going to be held in Nepal after a gap of 26 years. It is expected to prove a milestone for the Nepal Scout. The first jamboree was held in 2043 BS. Around 300 people from abroad and four to five thousand people from within the country are expected to participate in the jamboree. The Nepal Scout earlier had called the national council meeting on March 5 to make the jamboree successful. The meeting was held under the chair of Nepal Scouts patron and Prime Minister, Dr Baburam Bhattarai. The meeting estimated a budget of Rs. 19.9 million to organize the jamboree on April 10. The jamboree would be helpful in promoting world scout norms and values and in spreading the message of peace and harmony being carried by Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha and the country of the Mount Everest. Nnnn NEW AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADOR Kathmandu, 11 March : New Australian Ambassador Carr White will take up his assignment as his country’s ambassador to Nepal in April. Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr announced White’s nomination. White, a former ambassador to Jordan, replaces Susan Grace. He is currently director of the Counter-Terrorism Cooperation Section in the foreign ministry. nnnn. NEPALI YOUTH KILLED IN NEW DELHI RSS Kathmandu, 11 March : A youth of Parsa district who reached New Delhi of India for job has been killed. Anur Alma Hawari, 18, son of Mani Hawari of Dhobiya Tola in Lahawarthakari-8 in Parsa was killed by unknown people, RSS reports from Parsa.. He was killed by stabbing in 15 days of reaching there, and the whole of Dhobiya Tole has been in grief. His cousin Najir Hawari who accompanied him was also seriously injured and his condition is critical, said father of the deceased. The family was preparing for his marriage in Bharbaliya of India after 16 days. The father has urged the Nepal government to take initiative for taking action against the culprit. nnnn
