PRESIDENT, ARMY CHIEF MEET
Lathmandu, 3 March: Army Chief Gen. Gaurav Shumshere JB Rana
Sunday held three-hour discussions with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, who is supreme commander-in-chief of Nepal Army.
Both sides didn’t give details of their discussions.
The meeting comes amidst a continuing political crisis as four major
parties attempt to form an election government to conduct constituent
assembly elections for the second time 5 June.
The vote is unlikely to take place with time constraint and opposition of some parties.

SECOND DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF KRISHNA PRASAD BHATTARAI
Kathmandu, 3 March: The second death anniversary of former Prime
Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai was observed Sunday.
An exhibition of his photographs was opened for public viewing at his ashram in Bode, Lalitpur.
Bhattarai died when he was 87.
The principled politician referred to as :santa [saint] neta] quit after Girija Prasad KPira;a took Nepali Congress (NC) on a republican abandoning the party’s policy of
multi-party democracy and constitutional monarchy.
Bhattarai or Kishiunji was the only surviving founding member of NC
when he died.
He gave the people a constitution in one after panchayat was toppled 1990 and prepared a constitution in six moths after the changeover from panchayat to
multi-party and constitutional monarchy rule.
