PRESIDENT SEEKS CLARIFICATION FROM REGMI Kathmandu, 22 March: President Dr..Ram Baran Yadav Friday asked Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi through letter whether the reappointment of three persons, including chief election commissioner, was appropriate. The constitutional council,of which Regmi is chairman, arecommended the appointments Thursday night. The reappointment of Chief Election Commissioner Neelkantha Uprety and commissioners AyodhiPrasad Yadav and Dhol Bahadur Gurung was recommended by the council. The president asked whether the reappointments were against article 129 sub-lauses 3 and 6 of the interim constitution that debars appointments of former chief commissioner and commissioners to government posts. nnnnt
