AKHANDA DEEP BEING TAKEN TO SOUTH KOREA

A team of Buddhist monks had come to Nepal from the Dosun Temple of South Korea to take the holy torch. The akhanda deep lit from the main peace torch from the Shantidip premises of Lumbini was handed over to the team on Thursday.
Earlier, the Korean monk and nun had performed puja as per their rites.
On the occasion, Nepali Ambassador to South Korea Kaman Singh Lama said the perennial torch would spread a message of peace between the two Koreas. The torch would be lit in various 108 temples of South Korea, he added.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav would hand over the perennial torch to Korean team leader and guru Shambhu Hyaja amidst a programme on Friday.
