GOVT. CHIEF CONDOLES THATCHER DEATH
Kathmandu, 9 April: Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has expressed deep sadness over the demise of the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher, RSS reports.
In a message of condolences sent to British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday, Chairman Regmi has expressed heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Cameron, to the people and the government of the UK as well as to the members of the bereaved family.

MAOIST CHIEF THREATENS RETALIATION

At a press meet in Kusma of Parbat on Tuesday, Prachanda said whoever attempts to foil the elections would be wiped out.
"Election fever has gripped the nation. Any attempt to destabilize the polls would be anti-national," the UCPN (Maoist) chair said.
The Maoist chairman was accompanied by party Vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai, party General Secretary Posta Bahadur Bogati and new entrant to the UCPN (Maoist) Ram Chandra Jha among other leaders.

JAYA PRAKASH PASAD GUPA HITS OUT AT MADESH FRONT
Kathmandu, 9 April: Coordinator of the Tarai Madhes National Campaign,
Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta, has said that justification of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has now ended, RSS reports from Parsa.
At a news conference organised by the Madhesi Journalists' Society, Parsa, here today, Gupta said that UDMF, formed just for grabbing power, has no justification and meaning now.
Stating that he is also a founder member of the UDMF, Gupta expressed the view that they should move ahead in a new way as UDMF has already been dissolved.
Claiming that there was no situation of holding election in the country for the time being, Gupta stressed that the incumbent government should be allowed to work.
Stressing that the mechanism of four political powers should be dissolved immediately, he said the government would not be free and cannot hold free election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) until the mechanism exists.

ANOTHER TERAI FIRE
Kathmandu, 9 April: Property worth more than six million rupees was destroyed by fire in two VDCs in Saptari district Monday night, RSS reeeports from Saptari..
A total of 23 houses of one dozen families were gutted by fire at Mainha Sahasrabahu VDC in the district last night.
The fire started from the cowshed of Sabir Miya at 10:00 pm destroyed his three houses, three of Kalam, two of Jiyabul Miya, three of Akhtar Miya, two of Salim Miya, among others.
Seven houses were demolished in course of bringing the fire under control. Property worth Rs. five million was destroyed by the fire, according to the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur.
Locals, fire engines and police personnel brought the fire under control. Similarly, property worth Rs. 1.4 million was gutted by fire at Sakarpur VDC in the district.
The property was destroyed after seven houses caught the fire, according to the District Police Office, Saptari.

13 RELATIVES, NEIGHBOURS SHOT DEAD BY MAN IN SERBID
Kathmandu, 9 April: A man in Serbia shot dead 13 people, mainly relatives and neighbors, in a village south of the capital Belgrade on Tuesday, police said, according to Reuters from Belgrade..
Twelve people died at the scene and one in hospital. The gunman shot himself and his wife but it was not clear what their condition was.
"They were killed in five houses, mainly relatives and neighbors," Milorad Veljovic, the head of the Serbian Interior Ministry's emergencies department, told Radio B92. "We don't know the motive."
