MASSIVE FIRE DAMAGE IN BANKE Kathmandu, 16 April:: A fire gutted over 60 houses in Wards No. 2, 3 and 4 of Holiya VDC in Banke district across the Rapti River on Tuesday, police said, according to RSS from Banke.. The fire had broken out from the house of Bahadur Yadav this afternoon and engulfed 60 houses and barns to reduce them to cinder in no time. Detail damage of the fire is awaited. The fire victims said that more houses were gutted due to delay of arrival of the fire engine in the village from Nepalgunj. The village lies 18 kilometers southeast to Nepalgunj. Nnnn TWO BOYS RESCUED FROM RIVER DIE UNDER MEDICAL TREATMENT Kathmandu, 16 April: Two boys rescued in an unconscious state in Narayani river in Nawalparasi diedwho Tuesday. They died while undergoing medical treatment at Chotwan. Nnnn HOME MINISTER SAYS GOVT. COMMITTED TO CURB DONATION TERROR Kathmandu, 16 April: - Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire has said that the government is committed to stop the donation terror and hooliganism and that they have issued stern directives to the bodies under the ministry to not allow any kind of illegal activities, RSS reports.. Talking to representatives of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), who approached the Home Ministry today demanding proper law and order, Home Minister Ghimire vowed to control organised crime and hooliganism. He added that the government would improve law and order within a few days. Stating that problems in good governance and law and order are seen as the existing laws and policies are ambiguous, the Home Minister stressed on the need of creating industry-friendly environment in the country through reforms on such laws and policies. Minister Ghimire said that they have directed to suspend the under secretary at the District Administration Office, Lalitpur, who was arrested from a casino , and added that the casino operator, who gave permission to a Nepali citizen to enter the casino , will also be booked. The Nepali law forbids its citizens from entering casino s. Home Minister Ghimire, also the Minister for Foreign Affairs, said that the government is committed to pursue economic diplomacy in favor of the country. He urged the private sector to help the government for the same. Also on the occasion, President of CNI, Narendra Kumar Basnet, reaffirmed its support to the government and demanded the guarantee of law and order in the industrial sector. nnnn
