NC MAHASIMITI MEET ALSO GETS UNDERWAY IN NAWALPARASI Kathmandu, 8 April: NC President Sushil Koirala Monday inaugurated a four-day meeting of the Mahasimiti at Parasi of Nawalparasi The meeting has been described as a mini summit of the general convention. The closed session of the of the mahasimiri begins at Tribenidham. Altogether 1,338 delegates are participating from 100 electoral constituencies are participating.. The party’s political agenda for elections and amendment of party statute are among issues being discussed for approval. The establishment is being challenged by at least Young Turks who are demanding resignation of Government Khil Raj Regmi as chief of the judiciary as well. For the first time in Nepal’s history, Regmi heads the government and the judiciary against the accepted principle of separation of powers. One worker died while two others were injured while erecting a pole at the meeting ground Monday. Nnnn INMATE ESCAPES FROM ROLPA JAIL Kathmandu, 8 April: A handcuffed inmate Gajendra Suhar escaped Monday from jail in Rolpa. He was arrested only Sunday with Rs,171,000 in unaconted currency notes. His handcuffs were foud nearby the prison. nnnn
