PARTIES COMMIT THEMSELVES TO POWER DEVELOPMENT Kathmandu, 10 April: Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, has said that the incumbent government is committed to economic development as well as for promotion of industry and business in the country, RSS reports.. Inaugurating the 47th annual general assembly of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) here today, Regmi expressed the determination that the government would not leave any works undone that are to be carried out in the government-level for industrial development of the country. He said that he will try his best not to allow bandhs, strikes as well as for guaranteeing law and order in the context that top leaders of the major political parties have signed on commitment paper not to make any obstruction to a campaign for creating investment environment and programmes for economic progress of the country. Chairman Regmi, who signed on the commitment paper on behalf of the government, said that issues of violent nature will be prohibited for creating environment to carry out economic activities unhindered. He said the commitment of parties for the country's journey towards economic prosperity has encouraged all and added that it is the initiation of the journey towards economic progress. Expressing the view that industrialists and entrepreneurs should emphasize on overall development of the society and nation, Regmi said that economic development should be focused on society and people. Stating that the government is determined to hold free and fair election to the Constituent Assembly (CA), he urged all to help the election government for the same. On the occasion, Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said that tendency of leg-pulling by one another should be stopped for building a prosperous Nepal, saying course of action approved by recently held Seventh General Convention of the UCPN-Maoist and basis of economic prosperity presented by FNCCI is the same. Through a video message, President of the Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, said that his party has never obstructed in economic development works and added that it is always ready to help FNCCI to that end. Likewise, Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal, stressed on the need of maximum utilization of those sectors having maximum possibility of economic development including tourism, hydropower and agriculture.Khanal also pointed out the need of finding a common roadmap for economic transformation. Expressing the commitment, Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Nepal, Upendra Yadav and Chairman of the Janashakti Party, Surya Bahadur Thapa said that they will completely follow the commitment paper. President of FNCCI, Suraj Vaidya, expressed worries over continuous decline of economy of the country and added that there was no alternative to joining hands by political parties, government and private sector in the campaign for nation building by preparing a common programme for economic progress. Birman Tamang confessed swallowing 100 capsules with hash before boarding the flight. Nnnn FRENCH PRESIDENT APOLOGIZES FOR DEATH OF NEPALI IN SHOOTING BY FRENCH SOLDIER IN AFRICA Kathmandu, 10 April French President Francois Hollande in a letter to President of Nepal Dr. Ram Baran Yadav apologized death of a Nepali national by a French soldier in Central African Republic in a shooting incident , the Annapurna Post reports.. Karan Bahadur B.K. was killed in a shooting incident 25 March. President Yadav said in response he was President Dr. Yadav expressed his gratitude for the apology. Nnnn
