BUDDHA JAYANTI UPDATE Kathmandu, 25 May: Special puja was offered at Maya Devi temple at Lumbini to mark Vuddha Jayanti Saturday. A peace process was taken out. Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi was chief guest. Nnnn ABDUCTED MAN FREED Kathmandu, 25 May: Mohan Shahi was freed Friday across the border in Rupaidhaiya unharmed. He was abducted from Banke several days. Abductors demanded a Rs.10 million ransom which wasn’t paid. Indian police cooperated with Nepali counterparts. Nnnn TWO KILLED, 20 INJURED IN TWO VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS Kathmanu, 25 May: Two persons, including a child, were killed and 20 others were injured in two vehicular accidents in Tumlingtar and Taplejung. A child was killed and 10 passengers were injured in Tumlingtar. A sixty-three year-old man was killed in Okhaldungha and 10 others were injured when a bus fell while negotiating a curve. nnnn
