CPN MAOIST SAYS IT HAS NO WEAPONS
Kathmandu, 6 May: CPN-Maoist General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that there was no truth in the reports that his party still holds some weapons. Issuing a press statement here on Monday, General Secretary Thapa said the weapons meant for the security of his party leaders are presently not with the party, RSS reports.
The clarification comes in wake of recent media reports that the party was yet to return back 23 weapons verified by UNMIN and meant for the security of the party leaders.
However, leader Thapa has, in the statement, said the weapons recorded when the party was one is the major responsibility of the then leadership.
The government had earlier urged the party to return the weapons by May 14,

BANDH CONTINUES IN EASTERN DISTRICTS
Kathmandu, 6 May: A bandh enforced Monday by the
Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajya Parisad (SLRP) disrupted life in nine eastern
disricts east of Arun river again .
The Parishad is demanding release of workers arrested last week for
disrupting work relating to voter registration for the second constituent
assembly elections.

SUPREME COURT ADMINISTRATION REFUSES TO REGISTER WRIT CHALLENGING CC RECOMMENDATION TO APPOINTMENT LOK MAN SINGH KARKI CIAA CHIEFi
Kathmandu, 6 May:: The supreme court administration Monday
didn’t register a writ petition filed against the constitutional council
(CC)’that recommended appointment of Lok Man Singh Karki as Chief
of CIAA.
The court administration said the defendant was not informed a writ challenging the appointment was registered by Advocate Om Prakash Aryal.
Four parties supporting tha government earlier unanimously
recommended Karki’s appointment now opposed by NC and UML.
