UPDATE UCPN MAOIST OFFICE GHERAORED Kathmandu, 7 May: UCPN Maoist office at Paris Danda was gheraored for one hour Tuesday by members of ‘civil society’ and other groups to pressurize the party to change its stance for the appointment of Lokman Singh Karki as CIAA chairman. Protests were staged nation-wide by groups against Karki’s appointment recommended by the constitutional council initiall with the support of four major political parties and a Madeshi coalition. nnn: SANGHAIYA LIMBUWAN PARISHAD WITHDRAWS BANDH UPDATE Kathmandu, 7 May: Sanghaiya lImbyywan Parishad Tuesday evening withdraw a four-day bandh in nine districts wast of Arun river. The move came as nine members of the body were released restoring normalcy to the region. The Parichad said it will push its political demands.
