FORMER KING COMES OUT IN RAJBIRAJ, LAHAN AND
WORSHIPS AT TEMPLES
Kathmandu, 11 June: Defiant former King Gyanendra came out on the
streets on Rajburaj and Lahan in central terai Tuesday and worshipped at
temples in the towns..
He was cheered by thousands of supporters and well0wishers.
Students affiliated with political parties hurled stones and chappals at
him in Rajbiraj Monday and tore down welcome welcome arches.

FORMER SPEAKER NEMWANG SAYS COUNTRY ENTERING
DARK TUNNEL
Kathmandu, June 11: Former Chairman of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Subas Nembang, has said that now the country has entered into a dark tunnel as the political parties were headed towards that direction, which were out of the
imagination of the Constituent Assembly (CA), RSS reports..
Speaking at an interaction on Tuesday organised by former Dalit lawmakers of the dissolved CA, Nembang said that election environment has been created in the country.
He mentioned that there was possibility of mishap in the country as happened before while going for CA election in the present situation.
Similarly, Nepali Congress leader, Laxman Ghimire, argued that it was a misfortune for the country´s democracy in handing over the leadership of the country to the Chief Justice.
General Secretary of the UCPN (Maoist), Posta Bahadur Bogati, said that there was now no alternative to going for election to institutionalize the democracy.
Likewise, CPN-UML leader, Bhim Acharya, pointed out that all the political parties should give high priority to issues of Dalit community.
On the occasion, lawmakers, Laxmi Pariyar, Shantidevi Chamar, Kalpana Rana, among others, expressed their views on the issues to be forwarded by political parties for the welfare of Dalits and women.
Yam Bahadur Kisan, who is active for the welfare of Dalits, presented a working paper on Dalit- related provisions to be included by the new constitution.

INDIAN FORMER FEDERAL MINISTER DIES OF WOUNDS
SUSTAINED IN A NAXAL ATTACK
Kathmandu, 11 June: Former Indian federal minister for
information died of wounds sustained in a Naxal or Maoist attack in
Chhatishgadh state, radio reports said Tuesday.
He was wound in the stomach and chest two weeks ago during an attack
in the northeastern state.
He sustained bullet wounds for which he was receiving treatment at hospital..
