KAZI MADHUSUDHAN RAJ RAJBHANDARI DEAD Kathmandu, 9 June: Kazi Madhusudhan Raj Rajbhandari died 29 May, his family announced Sunday. He was 92. Kazi Rajbhandari last was private secretary to former Queen Mother Ratna. He worked for King Mahendra and King Birendra in various capacities. Rajbhandari was also Nepal’s leading philatelist. nnnn . POWER TO MINISTERS’ QUARTER BEING CUT OFF Kathmandu, 9 June: Employees of Nepal Electricity Authority (NRA) in third phase of their protests opposing upgrading Trishuli A from 60 to 90 MW Sunday said they will cutoff power supply to ministers’ quarter for three hours from eleven in the morning. Employees affiliated with different unions are also cutting off power to the NEA office while observing a pen down strike for several hours. Opponents of a NEA board decision say completion of the 60MW power plant present under construction by a Chinese company will be delayed while cost will also increase. The 60MW project is due fot completion next year. Despite the protests, locals the project capacity should be increased,. , former energy ministers representing various parties oppose the upgrading. nnnn
